  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped small
  • 0.666 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 24 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 0.33 cup light brown sugar

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the cabbage across the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned.
  2. Drain any excess grease from the skillet. Add rice, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the beef mixture. Stir in crushed tomatoes and mix well. Spread this meat mixture evenly over the cabbage in the baking dish.
  3. Combine tomato sauce, light brown sugar, and white wine vinegar. Pour this sauce over the meat and cabbage layers. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 90 minutes. Remove foil and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
