Preparation Steps
- Add apple pie filling and caramels to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the caramels are melted. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Unroll each pie crust and use a large coffee mug to cut out 5 circles per crust, totaling 20 circles.
- Place a tablespoon of apple caramel filling into the middle of each dough circle.
- Fold the circle over and pinch the edges to seal securely.
- Melt the butter and brush it onto each empanada.
- Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over each empanada.
- Place empanadas in the air fryer and cook at 330°F for 10 minutes. Repeat with remaining batches.
