  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.666 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Halloween M&M candies (1, 12 ounce bag)

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat together softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; beat until light and fluffy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until well combined.
  6. Stir in 1 cup of M&M candies and set aside the rest for topping.
  7. Refrigerate the dough for 30-60 minutes to prevent spreading.
  8. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  9. Gently press remaining M&M candies on top of each cookie.
  10. Bake for 8-11 minutes until edges are set and centers remain slightly glossy.
  11. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
