Preparation Steps
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until golden and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
  2. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and dried thyme. In the same skillet, sear pork chops for 3-4 minutes per side until browned.
  3. Add beef broth to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until pork is cooked through.
  4. Sprinkle shredded Gruyere cheese over the pork chops and broil until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
