Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and diced carrots to the pot. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add the dry lentils, vegetable broth, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 40-45 minutes until lentils are tender.
  5. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve hot.
