  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, molasses, and egg. Mix until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture, mixing until well combined to form a dough.
  5. Place granulated sugar in a shallow dish. Roll dough into 1.5-inch balls and coat in the sugar.
  6. Arrange dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-9 minutes until cookies are soft but set. Allow to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
