Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine butter, brown sugar, molasses, and egg in a mixing bowl and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger.
- Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Pour sugar into a shallow dish. Roll dough balls into sugar and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-9 minutes until cookies are just set but still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
