Preparation Steps
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, salt, orange zest, and yeast. Mix well and set aside.
- Heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until the mixture reaches 120°F to 130°F.
- Add the warm milk mixture to the flour mixture. Mix on low speed until moistened, then increase to medium for 3 minutes.
- Remove the bowl from the mixer and stir in remaining flour by hand until a stiff dough forms.
- Place the dough into a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 35-50 minutes.
