  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan (grated)
  • 16 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 48 ounces marinara sauce (2 jars)
  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 pound mild Italian ground sausage (browned)

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ricotta, eggs, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until combined.
  3. Add half of the marinara sauce to the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle one-third of the sausage on top. Add one-third of the pasta, then dollop with ricotta mixture. Repeat layers, topping with remaining marinara and mozzarella cheese.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 2 hours and 30 minutes until bubbly and cheesy.
  5. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan if desired and serve hot.
