  • 0.75 cups butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cups milk
  • 1 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add milk and stir until just combined. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
  2. Meanwhile, wash and slice strawberries. Mix with 0.5 cups of sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  4. Slice cooled shortcakes in half. Layer the bottom half with strawberries and whipped cream. Top with the second cake layer and garnish with more strawberries and whipped cream.
