  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1.5 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons peeled and minced fresh ginger
  • 2 teaspoons peeled and minced fresh garlic

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add diced chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 4 minutes per side.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and cornstarch.
  4. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and stir well. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ginger and garlic. Adjust the sweetness or saltiness by modifying honey or soy sauce quantities.
